This CD-ROM is an attempt to document the July 22 - September 26, 1999 ╥LIFE/BOAT╙ exhibition of Raymond Pettibon, Jason Rhoades, and Hans Weigand at the MAK Center for Art and Architecture L.A. Schindler House in West Hollywood, CA, USA.

Ñ Power Macintosh¬ computer with a 601 or later PowerPC¬ processor. iMac or other machine with a G3 processor preferred.
Ñ MacOS 7.6 or later. System 8 or later preferred.
Ñ 32 MB of RAM. 64 MB or greater preferred.
Ñ QuickTime¿ 3.0 or later to view the digital videos.
Ñ 640 x 480 resolution monitor capable of displaying at least 256 colors; Thousands of colors preferred.
Ñ 2x CD-ROM drive. 6x or faster preferred.

Ñ Pentium¿ I 166 MHz processor. Pentium III processor preferred.
Ñ QuickTime¿ 3.0 or later to view the digital videos.
Ñ 640 x 480 resolution monitor capable of displaying at least 256 colors; High Color (16-bit) preferred.
Ñ 2x CD-ROM drive. 6x or faster preferred.
OVERVIEW:
To start the LIFE/BOAT CD-ROM, double-click the appropriate icon on the CD-ROM.
Macintosh

Move the cursor to the edges of the image to navigate; the panorama will move in the direction of the cursor.
The ╥lifesaver╙ cursor indicates that you are you over an interactive ╥hotspot╙ that can be clicked. Move the cursor around each panorama slowly to ensure that you discover all hotspots.
You will be able to experience most areas of the CD-ROM without QuickTime¿; however, to view the digital videos you will need QuickTime¿ 3.0 or later.
Use the installer on the CD-ROM to install QuickTime¿ 4.0 if you do not already have it installed.

TROUBLESHOOTING
- No installation is required to view the interactive panoramas, you should be able to view them directly from the CD-ROM.
To view the digital videos ensure that you have QuickTime¿ 3.0 or later installed. If you do not, install it using the installer on the CD-ROM:
- If playback seems slow, close all other open applications. If your machine has a slow CD drive, you can increase playback speed by copying the entire CD-ROM to your hard drive.
- Sound: on a PC please check to see that the sound card on your PC is properly installed. On a Mac, please check that the sound inputs and outputs in the Monitors & Sound Control Panel is properly set.
- Remember that this CD-ROM requires at least 32 MB of RAM to play properly, and either a PowerMac / G3 or a Pentium I or greater with a sound card.
